Los Alamos Sportsmen's Club

About Us:

The Los Alamos Sportsmen’s Club (LASC) is dedicated and committed to providing a safe place and safe opportunities to enjoy the shooting sports in the various shooting disciplines for all of our members to enjoy. We firmly believe we have the Constitutionally guaranteed right to keep and bear arms, and we want to exercise that right by conducting and receiving world-class firearms and archery instruction, shooting for recreation and enjoyment, and participating in a wide variety of local and nationally recognized competitions. We believe that properly conducted firearms and archery training, practice, and competition improves not only our skills, but our character and our sense of responsibility for the safety and strength of our community. We work together to provide and continually improve safe shooting venues for handgun, shotgun, rifles and archery for our members and their families, our guests, and local law enforcement. We actively seek to provide proper training, practice, and competition opportunities for our youth by supporting 4H, junior ROTC, and junior Olympic preparation. Shooting is fun and we to offer all who will shoot responsibly and abide by our safety rules the opportunity to join the LASC.

The Los Alamos Sportsmen's Club is an organization with over 500 memberships (for over 1,000 individual and family users). The Club provides instruction and a place to safely enjoy all shooting activities. Training in all forms of firearm handling and shooting provides our community with requisite skills for recreation, hunting, competition, and self-protection. The Club currently has Shotgun, Rifle, Pistol, Archery, Silhouette, Cowboy Action, Machine Gun, Women's and Junior sections.  We are a member club of both the National Rifle Association and the Civilian Marksmanship Program and provide instruction on the fundamentals of marksmanship and firearms safety. Our Junior program is affiliated with the NRA and 4-H and provides instruction on safe and proper handling of firearms to our junior members. The Club offers several Hunter Education classes each year so hunters and junior hunters may enjoy the outdoor experience of safely hunting in New Mexico or surrounding states.  Many local groups, with Club permission, use the Club grounds and other facilities for picnics and meetings; Boy Scouts, LAPD, Mounted Patrol, and other private groups.
