In celebration of Black History Month, The Loudoun Bible Church and Loudoun County Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated, will sponsor "A Reason to Dream" on Sunday, February 27, 2011, 10:00 a.m., at Stonebridge High School, Ashburn, Virginia. The featured speaker is Dr. Barry Black.
Dr. Black is the first African American to be elected as chaplain of the United States Senate, as well as the first Seventh Day Adventist and first military chaplain to obtain this role. He was also the first black to serve as the Chief of Chaplains of the United States Navy. Many of Dr. Black's success stories are revealed in his book, From the Hood to the Hill.
