The Louise Hillje Chamber of Commerce was officially incorporated on March 16, 1959. The chamber was organized by an interested group of civic-minded citizens who saw the need to acquire, preserve, and disseminate valuable business, commercial and industrial information concerning Louise and the surrounding community.

The organization was formed to generally promote the interests of trade, increase facilities of commercial transactions and business within and around Louise, and to encourage the support of civic, social, and community enterprises for the general welfare and progressive growth of Louise. The chamber was not organized to be political in nature. The Chamber was organized for the exclusive purpose of promoting the public interests of the town of Louise.
