About Us:
“Living Christ’s Love,” is a synopsis of our mission statement. “Christ’s Love” emphasizes our gracious Lord’s initiative in acting to claim us as His people. In matters of faith God always comes first. Gathering around Baptism, God’s Word, and the Lord’s Supper, we hear God’s promises and we are shaped to reflect the image of our God. Living Christ’s Love is our response to God. Living out of the gift of God’s Love looks first into our homes and daily lives; second at our mission in our community; and then seeks our mission in the nation and the world.
We care and we enjoy being together. We believe God is gracious and merciful. Worship of our Lord is the center from which flows the life of Luther Memorial Church. Our Lutheran confession of faith offers a richness to our understanding of who God is for us and how we are called in the world in our vocations.
God’s gift of music (both vocal and instrumental) is enjoyed and developed among all ages. A variety of styles of music are used in worship. A pipe organ was dedicated in 2004 and enhances many of our services.
We have many families who have been part of LMC for generations, and we also have families that are new to South St. Paul and the surrounding communities. As a result, we are an intergenerational church, welcoming to both the first time visitors as well as those who have been coming for their entire lives.
Sunday School is a time of study for both children and adults with a variety of adult classes available.
