Maple Elementary, one of four elementary schools in the Chardon Local School District, was built in 1959 after the Chardon community passed a $180,000 bond issue. The building was designed to be built in two stages; the first stage consisted of eight upper elementary classrooms, the administrative office and clinic, an all-purpose room kitchen and food service area. The second phase was the addition of four kindergarten-primary rooms.
Maple Elementary currently serves approximately 310 students in Kindergarten through Fifth grade. Our experienced and caring staff work effectively to provide the opportunity for all children to learn and reach his or her maximum potential. Maple Elementary has a long history of student achievement as evidenced by the results of standardized tests and proficiency results. The results are an acknowledgment and realization that our staff sets high standards and students work hard to obtain the desired goals.
