About
The Marshall Independent School District proudly serves approximately 5,500 students in Marshall, Texas. The district was founded in 1898 with the creation of Marshall High School.
MISD consolidated and underwent a grade-level realignment with the opening of four new schools and the renovation of an existing building to serve the district's STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) program in 2017-2018. The Legacy 2017 building program, born out of the passage of a $109,210,000.00 bond issue in 2015, consolidated the district from 11 campuses to just seven, with four K-5 elementary schools, one 6-8 junior high and one 9-12 high school. Washington Early Childhood Center continues to serve as the district's Pre-K/Head Start campus.
