Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School aspires to create a positive, peaceful, nonviolent, supportive and caring school environment, one that Dr. King would be quite proud of as part of his living legacy. Our goal is to continually involve our school family, which consists of students, parents, staff and the community in developing children’s life skills while building strong relationships. Nurturing our students’ character traits will bring greater success to them and others. Our hope is that through meaningful experiences provided to our students, a partnership between the school, family and community will ensure triumphs, both academically and socially, in the lives of the children we guide

It is our vision that MLK students will be able to acquire the skills and abilities demonstrated by their high performances in learning. This acquisition will be shown through the various evaluating measures, including district and state assessments. Through quality instruction, motivation, a wide range of practical experiences, and a high percentage of parental involvement, MLK students will successfully meet and exceed the academic standards that have been set along with the abilities to compete educationally, socially, and economically
