Philosophy:

The faculty of Cecil Picard at Maurice Elementary School believes that education is concerned with the total development of each student as an individual and as a member of society. Therefore, education should encompass the whole of human life including the harmonious development of each student's intellectual, social, physical, moral, emotional, and cultural needs. It is the consensus of the faculty that the home, church, and the community, as well as the school, must play a vital role in the total development of each student. It is the responsibility of this faculty to provide the best possible program of study for each student and to provide an environment which stimulates a student's eagerness to learn.
