McDowell Elementary is home to 305 third graders. As "A Community Learning Together" in a child-centered atmosphere, these students thrive. Parents are frequent volunteers in this building and participate fully in Hudson PTO, PTA and VIP activities. Studying Hudson's past and present is part of the third grade curriculum...learning about David Hudson, the Underground Railroad, architecture and the economy of the city; plus, visits by local dignitaries add excitement.  McDowell students are very proud of participating in The Leader in Me program where all students find the leader potential in themselves and others!
