Meadows Union School is a rural K-8 single site district located 6 miles east of El Centro in southern Imperial County. The district has a large Hispanic population with over 70% of students classified as English Learners. El Centro’s proximity to the Mexican Border and rapidly growing coastal areas are producing high commercial and residential growth in the area. The community is highly supportive of the educational program at the school, but due to the high immigrant, high unemployment levels of the area, many students need academic support.
Meadows Union School serves grades kindergarten through eight, operating as a single-site district on a traditional calendar.
