Metropolitan Cathedral of Truth opened its doors on Sunday, January 1, 1984, to provide a home, shelter, and growth environment for the many persons who had been won to the Lord through the evangelistic outreach of Helena Barrington Crusades for Christ, Incorporated.

Believing it is the "whole duty of man" to "fear God and keep His commandments" (Ecclesiastes 12:13), "to do justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with God" (Micah 6:8), and to "love the Lord they God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and love thy neighbor as thyself," (Matt. 22:37, 39)
