The Miller Branch on Frederick Road outside Ellicott City is the county's first permanent public library. Opened since May 1962, and named after Charles E. Miller, who donated the land for the building, Miller was expanded to its present 23,000 square feet in July 1986. The ever-changing atrium, maintained by local garden clubs, along with the large community display cases are delightful all year long. With an extensive print and audiovisual collection, enhanced with electronic resources, Miller offers materials, programs and services for all ages.
