Our Mission

The mission of the Monroe County School district, where parents, school and community are dedicated to educating children, is to provide a comprehensive learning environment for all children to prepare for lifelong learning and achievement in a changing society and a complex world.

Our Beliefs

We believe that all children can learn and achieve in a safe, disciplined and nurturing environment. All people have worth. Every person has a right to educational opportunities. A good education involves meeting the needs of the whole person. Education should provide opportunities for every person to become life long learners. Striving for continuous improvement in all areas produces a successful school system. Professional development, evaluation, and accountability of school faculty and staff are critical to the educational process. The community benefits from active community and parental involvement in the schools and both are essential for the best education of children. Respect for authority, self-discipline and accountability of the student are required for learning to occur. Leadership, problem-solving and communications skills are essential tools of educated people. Federal, State and local resources must be provided to assure that every person has access to a competitive education.
