Montgomery Village is home to more than 40,000 residents. Located in the heart of Montgomery County, Maryland, the Village is conveniently located between Washington, DC, and Baltimore with the technology corridor in between. With lots of jobs close to home and plenty of amenities in the Village and beyond, the Village and its rolling green hills, beautiful parks, lakes and cherry blossoms is the ideal place for families, seniors looking for a quiet neighborhood in which to retire or for singles just beginning to establish themselves.
Montgomery Village was established as one of the first and, today, one of the few European Style, New Town planned communities. Originally planned and developed by Kettler Brothers, Inc., the village has grown to include a wide range of styles and levels of affordability in single family homes, town houses, condominiums, high end and mid range apartment complexes as well as retail and professional office centers within easy reach and service of all neighborhoods. The village is now home to 40,000 residents.
Governance and most traditional public services are provided by the Montgomery Village Foundation, Inc., a non profit corporation. It currently owns 320 acres (soon to grow to 330 acres) strategically located throughout the village that affords all its residents ample green space, recreation areas and parks, ponds and lakes, walking paths, 4 community centers nature center and amphitheater. Depending on the area in which one lives, the Foundation also owns and operates 7 large pools, and 22 tennis courts.
Additional green space and recreation space is available through the 10 homes corporations, 11 condominium associations, and three apartment rental complexes within the village.
