Our church does have a focus, which is captured by our vision statement, “Becoming and multiplying lovers of God and people.” These eight words are loaded with meaning:
Becoming lovers of God: God invites people into a love relationship with himself through Christ Jesus. Our goal is to stimulate a growing passion for God among His people.
Becoming lovers of people: Our goal is to nurture intimate relationships within our church family as well as a deep love for those who are outside of the body of Christ.
Multiplying lovers of God and people: Our goal is to increase the number of God-worshippers in the southwest suburbs and around the world. We are committed to mobilizing and equipping our people both to evangelize those who do not believe and to stimulate fellow believers to a deeper walk with God.
These life long pursuits never change and give direction to our lives and ministries. They are always the northern point of the compass:
The “Greatest Commandment” - to love the Lord our God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength and to love your neighbor as yourself - is still the greatest commandment, which we should focus upon everyday, all day long.
The “Great Commission,” which brings in the multiplying aspect of this mission, has yet to be fulfilled and continues to be our orders until the Lord returns.
