About Us
The Morris Central School District is located in the south-central region of New York State. It is equidistant between the cities of Norwich and Oneonta. Interstate 88 is minutes away and provides easy access to both the cities of Albany and Binghamton. Syracuse and Utica are also within a reasonable driving distance.
The school is located within the village of Morris, nestled in the heart of the historic Butternut Valley. Agriculture has been the backbone of this community for decades. While farming is still a presence in the Butternut Valley, many district residents commute to work in Oneonta, Norwich, Cooperstown and Sidney. The district enjoys the strong support of the community as evidenced by eleven consecutive positive budget votes.
Twenty-five miles southwest of Cooperstown, Morris enjoys many recreational and cultural opportunities. Hartwick College and SUNY Oneonta are located in nearby Oneonta. Binghamton and Albany Universities as well as SUNY Colleges Morrisville, Delhi, and Cobleskill are also within easy commutes.
