We start off the spring with garlic greens, lettuces, spinach, asparagus, green onions, kale and other greens. We also grow peppers, tomatoes, basil, lemon thyme, rosemary, melons, cucumbers, okra, summer and winter squash. CSA members pay in advance for the season. This helps us meet our budget needs to improve the soil, purchase seeds and supplies when needed and plant more crops. CSA members share the risks and rewards with us and understand the challenges of growing speciality produce. CSA members support of the farm is an important part of improving our local food system.

We have a few openings in our CSA program for the 2011 Spring/Summer season. The cost is $300.00 for 10 weeks of fresh produce grown right here on the farm. We will have additional produce for sale here on the farm one day a week in conjunction with providing a drop site for Texas Daily Harvest organic dairy delivery. You do not need to be a Moss Gathers CSA member to sign up for the delivery. We also offer produce for sale at various markets. Our CSA members get first priority and the rest is grown for market. It is wonderful to get out to the local markets and meet more natural foodies and other producers. We also enjoy giving farm tours and talking about sustainable agriculture, seed saving, natural soil amendments, attracting beneficial insects, recipes and real food grown naturally. We welcome groups or individuals by appointment who want to learn about local farms.
