We Believe:
Believing that all children can achieve at high levels, we strive to provide every student a rigorous and challenging academic experience with all the necessary supports so that each learner may achieve to the best of his/her ability. We believe in a learning program that promotes problem solving, critical thinking, free thinking, and reflection. Most of all, as a middle school we intend to develop the whole child- academically, physically, socially, and emotionally- so that he/she is assured success in life.
About us:
New Egypt Middle School, home of the Mustangs, is now in its 5th year of successful operation in the Plumsted School District. We are a 6-8 school offering innovative and individualized instruction in the core subjects, plus technology, tech lab, art, music, and physical education. "Student achievement is the goal," as we say at NEMS, but we also focus our energies on the whole child, believing that academic growth cannot be separated from social, emotional, and physical growth. Every student at NEMS is involved in a club or activity, and many more participate in one or more of our highly touted sports programs, which include soccer (boy's and girl's), field hockey, basketball (boy's and girl's), wrestling, track( boy's and girl's), lacrosse (boy's and girl's), baseball and softball. Our school colors are blue and gold. We have superb mentoring programs and an advisory period for every student in the building where we focus on successful life strategies.
