Mission:
1. Trip to Clyde, NC to help clean up from flooding from hurricanes. (Disaster Relief)
2. Last April we sent a group to Brooklyn, NY to help with a project there. They are building a center for future volunteers to use when traveling to New York for other mission projects.
3. We donated materials to the NC Baptist men's Fair ministry, ministering to the workers at the Dixie Classic Fair. Personal toiletry items, clothing and blankets were donated for these workers who may see no other Christian presence during the year. This was our second year to take part in this ministry.
4. A team from several different churches (including NVF) came together to make and package lunches for the participants in the Special Olympics. The team prepared, packaged and delivered over 3,000 lunches. This ministry is an every year one, too.
5. Our youth, and others, participated in the World Vision 30 hour famine to raise awareness of world hunger as well as raise money to combat hunger.
6. The Crop Walk helps raise food and money to help feed the hungry, differing from the 30 hour famine in that more of the proceeds stay to help locally.
7. Folks from NVF volunteer monthly at the Soup Kitchen in Reidsville and donate food regularly for both the Soup Kitchen and the Hands of God ministry.
8. In a continuing ministry started here at NVF, volunteers helped collect, repair and fix-up, and then deliver bicycles to children (and others) who could use a bike and may not be able to get one otherwise. This year we gave away twenty three (twenty one bicycles, one tricycle and one riding toy tractor).
9. At Christmas time NVF folks put together Operation Christmas Child shoe box gifts, Salvation Army Angel Tree gift packages, gifts for kids at the Second Chance Ranch in Danbury as well as helping local families.
