Newberry County Volunteer Guardian ad Litem Program

2107 Wilson Road, Rm 144
803-321-2155 ext. 145

Our volunteers commit to being positive, effective advocates for children who have been abused or neglected. As a GAL volunteer, you work directly with children, many of whom are currently in foster care. Your goal is to help these children find safety and stability, in permanent homes where they can grow and thrive. You will listen as children share their experiences with you, as well as their hopes and dreams for their futures. You will then work to make a difference for these children, by advocating for what they truly want and need. Many of our volunteers find that their own lives have been enriched by this opportunity to be a positive force in a child's life.
