About:
On March 23, 1967, the City Council of the City of Nocona approved an ordinance to establish a Hospital Authority. After much time, research and consideration, in January 1971, the Authority decided that area residents could best be served by creation of the Nocona Hospital District to include both the Nocona and Prairie Valley Texas School Districts, and such Hospital District was created by August 1971. Construction of the hospital began in November 1972 and was completed in early 1974. Nocona General Hospital (NGH) began operations on April 15, 1974, with the admission of the first patient. Since that time, NGH has served Montague County with perseverance and pride. NGH is licensed for 38 beds, which is a small, rural community in north Texas with a population averaging 3,000 citizens.
