The students at Nord MS have been busy with service-learning projects this year. The students have worked together to support many worthy projects.
1.Raised $14,338 for the Leukemia Society with its Pennies for Patients drive
2.Collected canned goods for the Salvation Army
3.Visited senior citizens at the Golden Acres nursing home.
4.Collected clothes for the Women’s Shelter in Lorain.
5.Participated in Hoops for Hearts (American Heart Assoc.)
6.Sent letters and items to soldiers in Iraq
7.Raised money for the playground committee
8.Received donations for Special Education Camp scholarships
9.Students read to Power’s students before school
10.Donated items to Buses International
11.Sponsored a bake sale to raise money for the less fortunate of Lorain Co.
Students were recognized as “Points of Light” for displaying outstanding character, receiving a t-shirt and being pictured on the school website.
