History:
The Northeast Texas Choral Society first sparkled at Christmas in 1998 introducing 100 exuberant singers under the artistic wizardry of founding director Carol Ruth Allen. Concert-goers were spellbound hearing the wonders of the holiday season performed by friends and neighbors who had dedicated themselves to months of demanding and exacting practice.
The magic flowed with the 1999 and 2000 seasons featuring classical, ethnic, and traditional selections exposing the community to an expanding world of diverse sounds and sights. Always pushing themselves to greater musical and performance excellence and expansion of their repertoire, choir members reached deeply within themselves to be genuine purveyors of quality music for the community. The tradition of the Christmas concert became a must-go event for local patrons of the arts who listened mesmerized as the choir introduced a tapestry of foreign carols and relived the enchantment of fond seasons past.
Blessed with a passion for song, a boundless enthusiasm for performance, and an extraordinary alchemy of inspired direction and masterful accompaniment, these ambassadors of the arts invite you to join them in the magic and romance of music!
