The mission of the NMYLA is to provide a safe, organized opportunity for boys and girls in the 8 to 14 year old age group to learn and play the game of lacrosse. It is the intent of the NMYLA to provide a fun experience for the participants. Started in 1999, the NMYLA has boys and girls travel teams at the Under 11, U13 and U15 levels. In the spring of 2004, the NMYLA had 170 children playing on 8 teams. A majority of the boys and girls playing for the NMRHS teams came up through the youth league.

North Middlesex Youth Lacrosse Association teams play in the Mass Bay Youth Lacrosse League. The league does not keep records or statistics and has no standings or playoffs. Consequently, there are no A, B or C teams in the MBYLL; all teams are as balanced as possible within each town. Typically games are Sunday afternoons with 2 practices per week. Registration is in the fall with practice starting in March if possible. Games are in April, May and early June.
