The NCCF is a not-for-profit, 501 c()) organization that builds permanent funds to benefit the charitable needs of our community. Established in 1986, the NCCF holds over $11 million in permanent funds, which allow us to distribute over $900,000 annually in grants and scholarships for the betterment of the northern Chautauqua community. These funds have been created through contributions from community minded individuals, businesses and not-for-profit organizations.
The NCCF provides grants and support to a wide variety of charitable organizations. We are structured to support the most pressing needs in the community today and, as these needs change, so will our funding focus. In addition, we identify current and emerging issues, stimulate resources to address those needs and help our community prepare for the future.
Three general characteristics set us apart from other not-for-profit organizations. First, the NCCF is a permanent organization. Because our funds are held as endowments, in most cases, the contribution you make to the NCCF is never spent, only the income or earnings is. This means that your contribution will be serving the community today, tomorrow and for generations to come. Second, we are flexible. We continually adapt and change in response to the community's and our donors needs. Third, we are an independent organization. Our neutrality allows for us to serve as a community convener and leader.
