Our Belief
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the eternal son of God, coequal with the father. He was united forever with a true human nature by a miraculous conception and virgin birth. He lived a sinless human life and voluntarily offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross as their substitute, thus satisfying divine justice and accomplishing salvation for all who trust in Him alone. He rose from the dead in the same body, though glorified, in which He lived and died. He ascended into heaven and is the only mediator between God and man, continually making intercession for those who are His own. He will come again to earth, personally and visibly, to consummate history and the eternal plan of God.
Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the eternal Spirit of God, coequal with the Father and the Son. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for salvation in Jesus Christ and to glorify Him in all things. From the moment of salvation the Holy Spirit permanently indwells every believer and becomes the source of assurance, strength, wisdom, and guide in helping each one understand spiritual truth and how to apply it to his or her life. He uniquely endows each believer with gifts to be used for building up the church. His power and guidance are appropriated by faith, making it possible for believers to lead a life of Christ-like character rooted in love for God.
The Bible
The Bible, composed of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament, is our sole basis for belief and the supreme source of truth for Christian living. In its entirety the Bible originated with God and is given to us through chosen human authors under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Thus, it speaks with the full authority of God and at the same time reflects the backgrounds, styles and vocabularies of the human authors. The Bible is God’s word, therefore it is truth without any mixture of error in whole or in part.
Humanity
All people are made in the spiritual image of God with the plan to be like him in character. We were created male and female to glorify Him, enjoy His fellowship and to fulfill His will and purposes on earth. A voluntary act of personal disobedience to God resulted in a damaged relationship between each person and God. The only way for each person to restore this relationship with God is through personal faith in Jesus Christ.
Salvation
The central purpose of God’s revelation in the Bible is to call all people into fellowship with Himself. Salvation is wholly a work of God’s free grace and must be appropriated by personal faith in Jesus Christ believing that He died on a cross and rose from the grave, paying the price for what should have been the penalty for our sin. When we turn from our self-ruled life of sin and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved.
