Our Story:
OCC is an established ministry with roots in outreach to children and youth in the Orchards area of Lewiston. In 1908, the American Sunday School Union organized a Sunday school to provide Christian education for families in the developing but rural Orchards area of Lewiston. The attendance and activity with the Sunday school and corresponding youth group grew. The Sunday school led to the formation of a church starting June, 1910 with six charter members. It was called Lewiston Orchards Congregational Community Church.
In 1973, the name was changed to Orchards Community Church (OCC) after separating from the Congregational Church Conference. OCC stands as a non-denominational evangelical community church.
Since 1910, OCC has been led by 13 lead pastors. The focus today is the same as when the ministry started, to make spiritually seeking people into fully-devoted followers of Christ.
