Paris-Henry County Heritage Center

614 North Poplar Street
731-642-1030

Mission:

The mission of the Paris-Henry County Heritage Center is to help the diverse community of Henry County, Tennessee, better understand its past. The center collects, preserves and interprets historic artifacts, documents, photographs and other materials. The museum educates the public through exhibits, programs, publications, technology, oral history and other activities.

About Us:

Established in 1989, the Heritage Center is located in Cavitt Place, the most prestigious mansion in Paris when it was built in 1916. The Italian Renaissance Revival, two-story home was called “the jewel in the crown of Paris,” by one state historical expert.
The Heritage Center is a local history museum, featuring quarterly exhibits in addition to regular tours of this beautiful building. Much more than a storehouse for artifacts, we call the Heritage Center a teaching museum. It is a place were people can learn about our shared past.
We also house a gift shop filled with Paris and Henry County memorabilia, and our facility is available for you to rent for your next special occasion!
The museum is in the heart of the North Poplar Historic Neighborhood, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. We are within walking distance of the Historic Downtown Business District, which is also on the National Register of Historic Places.
