The Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for the organization and supervision of a comprehensive program of leisure time activities for the citizens of DeLand according to the stipulated policies and regulations set forth by the City Commissioners and City Manager.

These programs include a diversified range of recreational opportunities, providing adequate maintenance of buildings and grounds of the city park system, and administration of the Municipal Mobile Home Park. Departmental personnel to interact in cooperative programs that include holiday celebrations and various approved activities with special interest groups.
