Founded in 1970, Paul D. Camp Community College (PDCCC) is a small, rural, comprehensive, two-year college. Located in Southeast Virginia, its service area includes the City of Franklin, the Counties of Isle of Wight and Southampton, and most of the City of Suffolk.
Day and evening classes are provided at campuses located in Suffolk and Franklin and an educational center located in the historic Town of Smithfield. Credit and non-credit workforce services and training for area businesses and industries are provided through the College's Regional Workforce Development Center on the Franklin Campus. High school dual credit classes are offered in area schools, and a growing number of online classes are available for student convenience.
PDCCC is one of twenty-three colleges in the Virginia Community College System. The College "provides diverse learning opportunities to enhance the quality of life for students and the community." To achieve this mission, the College provides access to transfer and career/technical courses for nearly fifty programs and developmental studies for those not prepared for college-level work. The College pursues a variety of partnerships for the growth and renewal of the service region.
