Pike County wants to concentrate it's growth, keeping the businesses and busy city centers focused to allow its' residents to continue to enjoy the beauty of the farms and wide open spaces. An excellent School System and an active recreation department combined with a new industrial park and a desire for quality economic development have turned Pike County into an ideal place for business and industry.

Agriculture and forestry are still the main industries in Pike County , though the county is feeling the positive effects of Atlanta’s growth. With a population of 13,688 in the 2000 census, Pike County has experienced a residential growth rate of 33.9% in the last ten years.
The goal of the Development Authority of Pike County is to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Pike County by properly managing and by maximizing our current assets. By creating community coalitions and regional cooperation, we plan to create a vision where collaboration produces prosperity.
