The members of the Order of the Eastern Star are dedicated men and women who sincerely reflect the spirit of fraternal love and the desire to work together for good by giving their time to meaningful projects that benefit mankind.
Eastern Star Membership
Individuals seeking membership in the Order should begin by checking with members of their family to determine the full name, date of birth or date of death (if appropriate), plus the name, number and location of the Masonic Lodge to which their male relative(s) is a member or was at the time of his death. To obtain Masonic Lodge information contact a Mason, who can obtain the information from his Lodge Secretary. Once this information is obtained the inquirer could further explore joining the Order.
Who may join: Affiliated Master Masons in good standing and any female relatives who are related by birth, marriage, or adoption to Affiliated Master Masons in good standing, or if deceased were in good standing at the time of death; as well as members - either active for three (3) years or majority - in the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls® or Job's Daughters International®, each of whom having obtained to at least the age of eighteen (18) years, are eligible to membership in the Order of the Eastern Star.
How to join: To inquire about membership, talk to a current member, or contact a local chapter. To find a chapter in your area, click on the Subordinate Chapters link in the Main Menu. Petitions are carefully read, eligibility investigated and election to membership must be by unanimous vote. The Order strives to select persons of mental, moral and spiritual quality who will work together in harmony to perform its objectives.
