This museum of history and folk architecture includes Piney Grove-1790, Ashland-1835, Dower Quarter-1835, Ladysmith-1857 and Duck Church-1917.  The property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is an official site of the Virginia Civil War Trails, Virginia Birding and Wildlife Trail, Time Travelers Program and Jamestown Discovery Trail.  Piney Grove at Southall's Plantation is located off the Virginia Route 5 Scenic Byway.  Self-guided gardens and grounds tours are offered daily and guided special event tours are offered on many Saturdays.
