Mission:
Garner financial assistance to help the Pokagon Longrifles purchase at least twenty-five acres of land that will be used as the main location for educating citizens through venues such as the performing arts, teaching, promoting, and preserving our nation’s rich historical heritage. Our club will educate families by reliving just a glimpse of the struggles and courage of the early Americans who settled our country and established the greatest free nation in the world.
This will be accomplished by a two phase approach of securing $300,000.00. The first phase includes purchasing land and move the existing facilities estimated at $150,000. Continuing with the second phase which would include adding additional structures over a period of time at a cost estimated at $150,000. The new structures include educational interactive cabin to be used as a school, another cabin for weaving & spinning, a blacksmithing shed, a tannery, and soap making facilities.
Maintaining this substantial investment will be accomplished by the Pokagon Longrifles with the annual income that is adequate enough to meet the annual costs such as upkeep of the facilities, financing annual events and the necessary insurance coverage for the club and events. This land purchase would also allow for additional income from the general public since there would be enough area for parking which is no longer available at the current site.
