The two schoolhouses were built around 1885. One was used as an early rural school. The larger one contains an unusually large collection of glassware and dishes, a display of children's toys, millinery and other collections. The farm machinery building gives a glimpse into early farming and houses a country store. The blacksmith shop displays tools of the trade, and the log cabin reveals the home atmosphere of the early settlers. The museum is located in the historic town of Morton in the Minnesota River Valley.
