About Us:

Ridin' High, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization offering recreational and therapeutic horseback riding to children and adults with disabilities. We are in our 25th year of operation. Ridin' High is affiliated with PATH International (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International).  We are located in Hamblen County, Tennessee--and our riders come from many surrounding counties and communities.

At Ridin' High we offer activities to address the physical, mental and social challenges facing our clients. Our riders come to us with disabilities such as cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, stroke, autism and a wide range of learning disorders. For individuals with impaired mobility, horseback riding gently and rhythmically moves their bodies in a manner similar to a human walking gait.

In addition to the physical benefits of riding a horse, our lessons are designed to help riders mentally focus--to practice using their concentration in ways that very often do not come natural to them. Because our horses are the partners providing them the opportunity to experience the benefits of riding, we also emphasize horsemanship skills with every student.
