History
The first school in the village of Rogers, Ohio was a one-room schoolhouse built on the property of William Schiltz on Highland Avenue. Later, classes moved to a building near the Rogers Feed Mill, and again to Mt. Hope Academy in 1883. In 1894, the academy burned, but was rebuilt the same year. A.Y. Taylor was teacher and owner. A.A. Galbreath and Charles Galbreath bought the academy in 1894 and changed the name to Mt. Hope College. In 1905, the college was changed to a summer school, and later to a public school. The public school, Rogers School, served students in grades 1-8. The school was again destroyed by fire in January 1951. The new school was completed in March 1951. In 1958, an addition was added to serves grades 1-6.
