Rotary Club Of Cabarrus County
History :
The Rotary Club of Cabarrus County was founded in 1985 and is 61 members strong. Over the past 17 years we have sponsored AAU basketball tournaments for boys and girls of all ages. These events have been known for their smooth organization and personal touch.
Fueled by the dedication and hard work of our rotarians and the generosity of our local patrons, money earned from these tournaments goes to support numerous worthy causes. Over $2,000 goes to local charities (Hospice, Habitat, Salvation Army, etc.) annually. We also contribute $3,000 for high school students' scholarships for further education. Rowan-Cabarrus Community College and the Cabarrus College of Health Sciences each receive two scholarships ($4,000 total) for their students. We also send over $1,000 to the Rotary International Foundation for humanitarian purposes.
