Rotary Club Of Hudson

In February 1973, Kenneth W. (Ken) Laraway, Jr., who was then president of the Anna Maria Island Rotary Club, moved to the Hudson area to organize his insurance business. In attending the New Port Richey Club, which he subsequently joined, he became acquainted with Ronald G. (Ron) Thornton, a member of the Seminole Rotary Club, who had previously moved his law office into the area, and discussions were initiated toward organizing a Rotary Club in Hudson. "Rotary in Action" soon became the tune of our young club. And so concluded the first year of the Rotary Club of Hudson. Although much has changed since then, our club continues to serve the growing Hudson community through fundraisers like the Country Bar-B-Que, and support of community events like the Hudson Seafest, plus so much more. As of July 2005 our membership has expanded to 37 members, many of whom are second generation Rotarians.
