Sabine Free State Festival, is held annually the first weekend in November in the southern Sabine Parish Village of Florien.

Celebrate the period in Western Louisiana's history when this region was declared neutral ground (A Free State, 1806-1822) pending settlement of a dispute between Spain and the U.S.

Arts & crafts, games, parade, treasure hunt, quilt demonstrations, western shoot-outs, music and local talent, bull rides, kids' games and rides, and more are part of this down-home fun festival.
