About Us:

Every church receives a title—the name of saint or a "mystery" (event) of the Lord—to inspire the people who worship there. Our own parish church is dedicated to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. (The parish's titular feast is celebrated on the third Sunday after Pentecost, in June.) 

Devotion to the Sacred Heart is based on the Scriptures, and has developed through the centuries thanks to the example and writings of numerous saints. Notably, St. Margaret Mary Alacoque (1647-1690), a French nun, received numerous visions of the Lord. Christ instructed her to make known the love of his Sacred Heart for all men and women. Since that time, devotion to the Sacred Heart has been tied to the First Friday of the month, when Confession, attendance at Mass, the reception of Holy Communion, and Eucharistic Adoration are encouraged.
