About Us:

The district provides a comprehensive Pre-K through 12 core curriculum that is aligned with the Illinois learning standards. Technology is integrated into the curriculum; computer labs are located in the high school and grade school. Programs in college prep, vocational education, special education, pre-school education, Title 1, after school tutorials and summer school programs are offered. The district also operates a cooperative work program. The district operates two separate schools, one elementary school, and one Junior/Senior High school. The district has an enrollment of 485 students in grades Pre-kindergarten through twelfth with both the student and staff population being primarily white, non-Hispanic, with English as the common language. Of the 485 students in the district, there are 276 at the Grade School and 209 at the Jr/Sr High School. Of all these there are 204 district students on free or reduced lunches. Most of the teachers (60%) are from the area or have family ties to St. Elmo and have anywhere from 2 to almost 30 years in teaching with an average of 13.2 years.
