About Us :

On December 15, 1888, 29 individuals gathered to sign the charter of St. John's English Lutheran Church, establishing the first permanent English speaking Lutheran congregation in the Knoxville area.

St. John's Lutheran! St. John's is an active and engaged congregation celebrating more than 118 years of ministry in Knoxville. We have programs for seniors, adults, youth and children. Please know that you are welcome to participate. Visitors are most welcome-- feel free to come as you are.
