Mission
To provide a loving siritual community believing in worship, hospitality, education and service.
Hopefully as you explore our web site, you will observe some of our efforts to exist and thrive within the context of this statement. You will note our existance as a spiritual community. Of course we live in the confines of our very beautiful and historic physical home, views of which are scattered throughout our site. But beyond our physical home on Rainbow Boulevard in Niagara Falls, there is our other home that lives and breathes within the real existence of the Church -- it's people. Saint Peter's is more than the building we worship in, it is the people who worship our Risen Lord in that building and in their daily lives.
We live these lives in the Christian faith. We work and play, hope and dream, and yes, at times we suffer and despair. And through it all we have the community of Saint Peter's and the greater Church for both our spiritual and temporal support. Our efforts to comply with our mission statement are markedly evident in our celebration of the liturgy (worship). Visit our worship service one time and you will be welcomed warmly, or attend one of our social functions throughout the year (hospitality). The Sunday School meets regularly, "teaching sermons" are used from time to time, classes and seminars are frequently held throughtout the area on aspects of the Christian life (education). Our physical plant is offered up for community needs -- as a meeting place for Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous, we welcome the throngs who join together to worship on Worldwide Aids Day, we host youth groups who visit Niagara Falls, we participate in the programs within the city, county, deanery, diocese, and nationally when the opportunities are presented (service).
And most importantly, our efforts are not stagnant. When new opportunities arise to further live up to our mission, we acknowledge those opportunities and take the steps necessary to improve our parish life by including them. We know that this parish life does not end at the front door of the church building, but that it extends into our city, county, state, country, and to the world and the universe -- and into the personal lives of each and every one of us who are -- Saint Peter's Church.
