What we believe:
We value critical thought, and intelligent reason. We believe that science and spirituality can and should be mutually corrective and creative. For us the Bible is not a "literal" document, dictated by God to human beings. The Bible for us the the "Story" of our encounter with God throughout the ages. That encounter is conditioned by historical and cultural context and must be factored into any interpretation of scripture. We also find the Biblical narrative to be a compelling metaphor for human experience. We therefore take the bible "seriously" not "literally"

We believe in the value of our traditions.
The Holy Scriptures are the repository of the wisdom of the ages. We understand the Scriptures as The Story of God's action in Sacred history. We do not take the Scripture literally, but as the record of those who took seriously their experience of God within their own historic and cultural context.

The Nicene Creed and the Apostles Creed are statements of faith that we commit ourselves to and commend to others. They sum up the early church's understanding of the definition of Jesus as both fully Man and fully God. We believe that the Creeds faithfully present the Mystery of the Incarnation, namely that in Jesus God became one of us.

The Apostolic ministry of Bishops, Priests, and Deacons establishes both a spiritual and physical connection between us and Jesus himself through the Apostles and through time. That connection also gives us a vehicle to provide oversight and servanthood to God's church.

The Sacraments of Baptism and the Holy Eucharist provide the means for us to become members of Christ's Body and nourishment to be fed by the companionship of Christ throughout time.
