History:
St. Simons United Methodist Church was the first Methodist Church erected on the island after John and Charles Wesley, the founders of Methodism, preached here well over two centuries ago. Founded on November 19, 1938 on the present site, the church has grown to become a strong witness for Christ on St. Simons Island. With 600 in average attendance and a welcoming and worshipful environment for our many visitors and guests, St. Simons United Methodist Church has many exciting and fruitful ministries for persons of all ages.
The church is committed to its Wesleyan heritage of both spreading Scriptural holiness throughout the world and being active in a variety of missions. We believe in the apostolic faith as we seek to connect people into active and vibrant ministries to positively impact the Kingdom of God by making disciples for Jesus Christ.
