The mission of San Clemente High School's guidance and school counseling program is to address the academic, career, and personal/ social development needs of all students. In partnership with other educators, administrators, parents, and community members, school counselors facilitate a support system that will provide students with the opportunity to acquire the educational and social competencies (knowledge, skills, and attitude) necessary to function effectively in and contribute to a changing society.
We Believe:
Every student should have the opportunity to learn about educational and career opportunities
All students have the right to individual student planning that address their academic and career goals, as well as their personal/social development
Students who struggle with educational or social/emotional problems should receive extra attention.
In the fundamental values of honesty, respect, and responsibility and that every student deserves a safe and supportive environment in which to learn
School counselors and guidance staff should collaborate with other educators, administrators, parents, and community members in order to meet the needs of a diverse student population and advocate for student success.
