Who we are:

Sanford Health in Bemidji, Minn., is the largest health care provider in the region. With more than 1,500 staff members, 130 physicians/advanced practice providers and 500 volunteers, we offer a wide range of services that may not be possible anywhere else because of our manpower.

Every year, Sanford Bemidji Medical Center has more than 6,500 admissions, 262,000 outpatient visits and 1,000 births. As a regional hub, the emergency department, a level IV trauma center, treats more than 27,000 patients annually. The trauma center is also supported by critical care medical air transportation including Sanford AirMed.

As a provider of specialized care, Sanford Bemidji Medical Center offers expanded services in areas of cancer, cardiology, orthopedics and women’s health. Recently expanded offerings in Bemidji include 24-7 cardiac care, robotic-assisted surgery, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, critical care helicopter service and a state-of-the-art Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Center. 

We provide home care and hospice services with the compassion and respect our patients and their loved ones deserve.

Seniors have access to a wide range of services to help improve or maintain their quality of life.  We offer the region’s only senior behavioral health unit as well as memory care, a skilled nursing facility, and senior housing to fit a variety of lifestyles and budgets.

We have facilities and clinics throughout our region that utilize the latest treatments and technology available. Our medical centers in Bemidji and Bagley have 143 acute care beds.  And you will find community clinics in Bagley, Baudette, Bemidji, Blackduck, Cass Lake, Clearbrook, International Falls, Kelliher and Walker.

Our providers also extend their care through outreach services in Minnesota communities including Baudette, White Earth Indian Health Service, Red Lake Indian Health Service, Cass Lake Indian Health Service, International Falls, Park Rapids and Big Fork.
