Santa Cruz Blues Festival

About SCBF

Twenty-two years ago the Santa Cruz Blues Festival began as a way to honor the uniquely American tradition of blues music in the ultimate music-lover's setting: a gorgeous natural Redwood amphitheater with intimate staging and world-class concert sound. Two decades later the SCBF has become a destination showcase for not just the luminaries of this uniquely American form of musicianship, but for modern artists who credit their path with the heritage of the blues.

At the SCBF, the likes of Boz Scaggs and Joe Cocker, Bonnie Raitt and Susan Tedeschi, have graced the same stage as their mentors: John Lee Hooker, Albert Collins, Ray Charles, BB King, Bobby "Blue" Bland, Buddy Guy, Jimmy Rogers, Etta James, and Koko Taylor among them. Coco Montoya, Tommy Castro, Jimmy Vaughan, Jonny Lang, Los Lobos, Joan Osborne, and Trombone Shorty not to mention the dozens of artists who look to the blues for their inspiration have converged on this beautiful coastal Redwood park each Memorial Day weekend.
