Schuylkill Valley Middle School is a small rural/suburban school of approximately 475 students, 33 teachers, and 20 support staff. The school is organized into three grade level interdisciplinary teams that serve approximately 165 students each, as well as one unified arts team that serves all grades.
Teams specialize in creating small, student-centered structures that allow all students to experience the full range of curricular offerings with attention to personal talents and abilities. Our program is based on a block schedule, which gives every students 80minutes daily in language arts and math along with 80 minutes for science and social studies every other day. In addition, students experience a wide variety of course offerings through the unified arts program which meets for 80 minutes a day.
